Catch That High Speed Train

Some acts just nail that old skool Americana Roots sound perfectly. I love artists such as Pokey LaFarge and Luke Winslow King, who sit somewhere in an alternative time frame at the meeting point between Swing, Blues, Folk and Bluegrass, losing no amount of authenticity by their appearance in the 21st century. The UK also has some great acts along these lines. Leonie Evans and her various groups, or CC Smugglers for example. However one of my current favourites are Rob Heron & The Teapad Orchestra, who also add a healthy dose of Gypsy Jazz into the equation. This is their latest video. You can catch them at BoomTown Fair this year, both at the Rusty Spurs in our new Wild West area, or on the Mayfair Bandstand.

Plus here’s one of their older tracks…
