The Reaping #25

Blue King Brown – All Nations

This wicked Australian Reggae band have just dropped a new album ‘Born Free’, the singer’s voice reminds me of Santigold – who always should have done more Reggae – and the lyrics are pure consciousness. If that doesn’t sway you already then here’s their new single. Pure fire!

Ленинград — Машина

For those who can’t read Russian, this is the new single from the original Gypsy Punks, Leningrad. As I’ve stated before, their new material is some of my favourite from them. Looking forwards to hearing the whole album.

Red Eye Hi Fi feat. Fox – Raise The Alarm

Manchester stand up! Hearing good things about this Sound, they rocked it for us at BoomTown this year and nearly any tune with Fox is gonna get a posting from me. Look out for their new EP on NB Audio.

Neguedmundo – Chapa Coco

Big shouts to my met Dub Boy for posting this one. Brazilian Dancehall at it’s finest. Laid back and firing at the same time, plus for DJs it works as either an 80bpm or 160bpm track.

Lethal Bizzle – Pow! (The Dutty Inspectors Vintage Soca Refix)

Speaking of Dub Boy, he’s just released a bunch of bootlegs from his Dutty Inspectors project (alongside Atki2). Especially lving the Grime meets Soca ones such as this Pow! refix.

Fermin Muguruza feat. Boots Riley (The Coup) – Black Is Beltza

Part of a wider multi platform exhibition, which will include a graphic novel, this is a funky as hell video / track from Basque Punk legend, Fermin Muguruza (of both Kortatu and Negu Gorriak) and rapper / social activist, Boots Riley – from one of my long time favourite Hip-hop acts, the often criminally overlooked group, The Coup out of Oakland.

Firepit Collective – Hanging Johnny

Very much looking forwards to this long awaited debut studio album from Jay Terrestrial and Chezney’s excellent Folk ensemble – Firepit Collective. Heard this particular track a couple of times live, it’s a winner.

Pre-order the CD here.

John Butler Trio – Spring To Come

Always a pleasure to hear some new John Butler Trio, lovely animation too. Easy on the ears and eyes and after a late night for Mevs’ (Snowskull) birthday last night this is just about what I need.

Giufà feat. Municipale Balcanica – I Re Della Città

Then straight back in with some good old Gypsy skanking! Did you all catch my Gypsy set from the other day? Can find it here if not.

Ghostface Killah – Love Don’t Live Here No More

In my opinion Ghostface still has more fire than all of the other Wu members put together. Seems to be more prolific than any of them too, this is from his forthcoming album ’36 Seasons’ out on December 6th. Not sure if it’s release is gonna hold up the arrival of his collaboration album with BadBadNotGood – hope not cos I’m dying to hear more from that after ‘Gunshowers‘.
