I don’t post much Cumbia here. Although I love it, rarely do I hear a track which stands out enough to post. I’ve not heard much being played over here in a while either, but it feels like the right time for a bit of a resurgence. This track wouldn’t be a bad place to start either, with a healthy enough bass and a Dancehall-esque bounce that wouldn’t have been out of place in the Moombah/Reggaeton leaning Cadenza set I caught at Bestival this year (okay so maybe it would need more bass and some Ragga vocals, but hey)!
I look forwards to catching the rest of Lila’s new album which goes by the same name. It’s her 8th studio album, whose name translates as Bullets & Chocolate. Shout out to Songlines for the heads up (they gave the album 5 stars).
