Ginga Riddim

Although Shambala remains one of my favourite festivals to play, it generally means I miss out on Notting Hill Carnival! This year was my biggest FOMO for a while, especially when Jus Now told me they were playing with artists such as Bunji Garlin, Fay-Ann Lyons and Olatunji there! To top it all off Machel Montano and Bunji Garlin performed together on London on the Friday night also, which could be why I ended up totally forgoing my planned Hillbilly set at Shambala’s Madame Bayou stage on Friday and just played nearly a whole set of Soca set instead, just to get it out of my system. Next time someone please book me for Carnival (and after parties) so I have no excuses to miss out.

All of this is just a long winded introduction to my current favourite Bashment Soca riddim, it’s called the Ginga riddim and it’s SO much fun, I swear I could get away with these tracks in one of Big Swing Sound sets, maybe next time!
