Black Acre: 52 Weeks

I often feel evangelical about Black Acre Records due to the high quality of their output coupled with the fact that nobody else seems to acknowledge the fact they are one of the most exciting and consistent labels out there today. Whether it’s Grime, House, Techno or the kind of experimental electronic music that has no decent workable genre identity these days, everything they put out not only pushes boundaries, but also connects with the soul and feels truly refreshing.

Their latest end of year compilation showcases this perfectly, from the Grime vanguard of Rocks FOE, Nico Lindsay and Trim to the brooding and often unnerving offerings from Memetone, this is a fine example of where electronic is, or at least should be in 2016. Here’s a couple of examples but you can purchase the whole album here.
